Thank you for your interest in Habitat for Humanity of Scotland County's Bike to Build bicycle tour!

This is our eigth annual event and we're gearing up for another great event. Spend Saturday, May 7 with your family (we have a route for everyone!) bicycling through beautiful and historic Scotland County, North Carolina and help build a home for a family that needs a safe home and neighborhood to live in! So many reasons to feel great!

There are so many bicycling events to choose from in April and May. Many are fundraisers worthy of your donations. We certainly appreciate you giving us the opportunity to show what a beautiful county Scotland is, with its rich history and desire to make our communities a better, safer place to live for many of our residents. Studies have proven that when families move from undesirable living conditions into a safe, affordable home in a good neighborhood, school grades improve and quality of life improves. Please share this day with us and help a family in need.

Note:  Friday night, May 6 th, there is an event called Jazzy Friday at our local vineyard called Cypress Bend Vineyards (www.cypressbendvineyards.com).  It's a fun filled evening with wine tasting, light hors o'deuvres and great music.  Come Friday, stay in one of our local hotels (listed on this website and on our brochure), and come to Jazzy Friday. It's only 20 minutes up the road from Laurinburg.

For tourist information and things to do in beautiful Scotland County, visit our Tourism and Development Authority website at www.visitnc-soul.com.  The website provides information on places to stay and eat, outdoor activities, events and festivals and many of the hsitorical sites to see.

Also, please remember, we accept any type of donation at our Habitat ReStore at 12340 McColl Rd (Hwy 401 S) in Laurinburg.  We'll take anything but clothing including, but not limited to: furniture, appliances (in working condition), household goods, decorations, lawn mowers, auto's, construction material, musical equipment, etc.

Registration is easy, the cost is low, a bicycle raffle, refreshments and sag vehicles are provided, and the day will be one to remember.

Spend May 7, 2011 doing something you love with the people you love...and help build a better world.

Habitat for Humanity of Scotland County works in partnership with God and people everywhere, from all walks of life, to develop communities with people in need by building and renovating houses, so that there are decent houses in decent communities in which every person can experience God's love and can live and grow into all that God intends.
