Bike to Build 2017

The tour will begin in the parking lot of the Scotland Memorial Hospital Rehabilitation Center at 500 Lauchwood Drive, Laurinburg, NC. [Map]

All events start “Rain or Shine”.

On site registration starts at 7:00 AM.

103k Cycle Tour: starts at 8:30 AM.
51K,34K,17K Cycling Routes: starts at 8:50 AM.
10k Run/Walk: starts at 9:15 AM.
5k Run/Walk: starts at 9:30 AM.

All events end at 3:30 PM.

Early Packet Pickup... Friday, May 12, 2017... 1pm-4pm at the Habitat for Humanity of Scotland County Office.

Youth under 16 must be accompanied by an adult! All riders are encouraged to carry ID, emergency contact information, and a cell phone. Go to Road ID to order your ID bracelet, dog tag, etc. Habitat will get a percentage of the sale.
Helmets are required for all participants!

 

Registration Fees:

Cycle: Individual $30.00
Team (4 or more) $25.00

5k Walk/Run: Individual $30.00
10k Walk/Run: Individual $40.00

Each registered participant receives a free T-Shirt, a participation medal, and breakfast and lunch. SAG service is provided.

Awards are presented to the first overall male and female winner in the 5K/10K runs and to the top finisher in each age group: 12-under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80-over.

Bike Routes: There are four mapped routes for riders of different skill levels. Each route is clearly marked as:
103K (64 mi.) - Yellow Route
51K (32 mi.) - Green Route
34K (21 mi.) - Orange Route
17K (10.5 mi.) - Blue Route


Run Routes: 5K and 10K Walk/Run will start at the Dulin Center and will run throughout St. Andrews University. Maps can be found online on this website.
Ask family, church groups, businesses, biking/walking clubs, friends, etc. to join you. Enter team info on the registration form.

Pledges: Getting pledges from family and friends for each mile you ride is an excellent way to help us with our fundraising efforts. Each participant is encouraged to raise $100 or more. Use the accompanying “Rider Pledge Sheet” to keep track of your pledges.

Sponsorships: Getting sponsorships is the most helpful way to make Bike to Build a success. If you’d like your name on the T-Shirt, website, and printed promotional material, turn in your funds by April 7th.  Sponsorship levels are here.  Our goal for the event is to raise money to help build a new Habitat Home. The average home now costs approximately $85,000 to build.

Supervised Children Activities will be available. Parents must sign a liability waiver. Adult supervision provided. Please indicate participation on your registration form.

While you are in town, be sure to stop in and visit the Habitat ReStore located at 12340 McColl Rd. (Hwy 401 South), Laurinburg. Merchandise includes gently used furniture, appliances, and surplus building supplies. All store proceeds benefit Habitat for Humanity® of Scotland County.
